Juno Reactor Solid electronica with a global flavor. I particularly enjoy the song Solaris, which can be found on Juno Reactor's Bible of Dreams album.
Kidneythieves Intense and violent one minute, delicate and crooning the next. The Kidneythives run the gamut of industrial rock, and in the process create beautiful soundscapes. Their only mainstream release, Trickster, is a masterpiece.
Kruder and Dorfmeister Soft, rhythmic, enjoyable acid jazz. Perfect as background noise, musical experience, and even as dance material. The influences expressed in this music are diverse, and range from Latin to hip-hop.
Lords of Acid This Belgian group is obsessed with sex. The Lords have put out a variety of different music, from electronica to classical. If you ever get the opportunity to see them live, they put on a great show.
Lunasect Electronica/industrial with a female lead singer. Lunasect is currently my favorite band. Every track on their debut CD Long Lost is a masterpiece in its own right.
Mother Destruction Tribal drum-n-bass with a definite Celtic influence. There is an incredible sense of energy running through Mother Destruction's work, but it is somehow very gentle. I could dance to this music, but I could also listen to it at bedtime.
Portishead Beautiful ambient/electronic work, with a definite hip-hop influence. Perfect 'chill-out' music for the end of a long day. These sounds are intelligent, subtle, dark, and extremely relaxing.
Rasputina Wonderfully creative gothic music. A distorted cello is used to achieve a brilliant mixture of ambient sounds, replete with operatic female lyrics. I recommend Rasputina to anyone with an interest in abstract compositions. |

Immortal Continuum Excellent streaming audio from Albuquerque, NM. IC specializes in dark, electronic music of all varieties, and mixes it up 24/7. The station recently got an extensive facelift, and its new interface is quite sleek.
Numbers Numbers is one of the oldest (and best) clubs in Houston, Texas. On Friday nights, the DJ spins an excellent mixture of 80's electronica. If you're ever in Houston, I recommend checking it out.
